LOGISTICS MANGER

Location: Seattle (remote position)
 

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the logistics department. Department oversight includes: the day-to-day procurement, shipping, distribution and inventory of our products.

The Logistics Manager is an exceptional project manager and communicator and builds partnerships easily. You have a keen intuition, anticipate needs and take actions necessary to respond to changes and problems that are inherent in food manufacturing and distribution.

BY DAY, THE LOGISTICS MANAGER WILL:

  • Manage the logistics/operations department and provide support to team members
  • Project Manage applicable logistics/operations initiatives – identifying key stakeholders and tracking deliverables through to completion
  • Production Requirements Planning (PRP)
    • Work with Director of FP&A to prepare production forecasting to co-manufacturers
    • Issue Purchase Orders and track production through to receipt
  • Oversee inventory levels and depletion and provide appropriate communication to Finance and Sales departments
  • Review and approve all payables flowing through logistics budget
  • Review shipping and operational costs with all 3rd-party vendors and negotiate most economical rates while maintaining supply chain integrity
  • Maintain QA requirements and processes (including product traceability, 3rd party certifications from vendors, etc.) as laid out by Director of QA
  • Provide logistics/operational expertise and perspective on new and existing projects to inform senior leadership decision-making
  • Provide support to staff in case of escalations, including navigating governmental regulatory agency relationships (both in US and Canada)

  • Possesses 4+ years’ experience in a Logistics or Supply Chain Management capacity, ideally within a manufacturing / retail grocery environment
  • Exceptional problem-solver with sharp logic and strong analytical skills
  • Well-versed in export/import shipping (food-specific industry experience a plus)
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Is proactive, mature and result driven, with expert-level project and process management skills that allows work across multiple projects at any given time under tight deadlines
  • Leverages excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate healthy and productive internal and external relationships
